energy healing therapy

Energy Therapies for Healing

Author: Alien

Most Alternative therapies hold that human beings are not only physical, but consist of a "subtle energy" system that relates to the mental, emotional, and spiritual self, all of which may be addressed in diagnosis and treatment. Though not yet scientifically proven, the concept of a sort of invisible "subtle body" appears to have some support in the latest theories in modern subatomic physics.

The idea that we have a "subtle energy body" or "aura" is not new. It has been traditionally recognized by Eastern medicine and most religions for centuries, and some psychics claim they can see it. According to these traditions it consists of a series of energy fields around the body, moving out from the "etheric" or electromagnetic field through the emotional and mental bodies, to the spiritual.

What religion is energy healing therapy based on?

Energy healing therapy can be based in many different religions. How the energy healing therapy is approached, what the purpose is, and the effect it has on the patient’s mind and body will all play a part in which religion a particular energy healing therapy is based. While they are all spiritually based, the religion they represent will vary.

Energy flows within the body through channels called "meridians," and seven main energy centers aligned down the spine. These energy centers or chakras (a Sanskrit word for "wheel") absorb and emit life force. Each chakra governs an area of the body together with specific emotional issues. Thus the "root" or "base chakra" connects with the adrenal glands, the hips, and one's security in the world, and the "brow chakra" to the pineal gland, intuition, and will.

Good health depends on the free flow of energy, and ill-health is caused by energy blockages or imbalances resulting from physical causes such as bad nutrition, drugs, or injury, and/or mental and emotional causes such as shock, grief, or negative thinking.

Energy-oriented therapies include acupuncture, uiodynamic massage, color and light therapy, craniosacral therapy, crystal healing, homeopathy, kinesiology, polarity therapy, chi kung, shiatsu, sound therapy, spiritual/psychic healing, and zero balancing.

Massage at home? Where do I get the products?

Massage oils, scented candles or incense sticks

I live in Thailand and every 2 or 3 days in a week I visit some market. Helping you buy massage products from here is my greatest pleasure. Let me hear from you soon for what you require here in Thailand.

Full Body Massage

by: Jake Jarden

A great full body massage is made up of great neck massage plus great back massage plus great arms massage and so on till toes. This kind of massage even though, is an exhaustive exercise for the massaging therapist, it can be one of the best massage one could ever get in case of the recipient. A massage can be made good not by the looks of it, but by the feel. It is important for the one who is massaging to feel the response in the sense of touch than what could be assessed from sight.

Setting the mood of the room prior to the massaging is as important as massage itself. Select a dimly lit room which can easily be filled with the fragrance of few scented candles or beautiful little incense sticks. Light can be made a treat for the eyes with the help of few lamps and candles. A soothing background music at very low volume will be an even better addition to the existing atmosphere.

Have plenty of clothes and towels with you if you are planning on a full body massage, you can get them warm by heating them in microwave for a short span of time. Choose from various techniques of massaging and follow it throughout the body consistently. To begin with, let your partner remove all the clothes, which will often prove helpful. Its again a matter of choice if your partner prefers to stay in underwear. Make your partner lay on the bed or floor with their stomach facing downwards. Keep few towels to cover the private parts. Choose from various essential oil and have plenty of it ready with you. Pour a little oil in both of your hands and rub both of your hands against each other and slowly start stroking the neck and shoulders of your subject. Give special attention to the spot where neck and shoulder merge.

Massage the temples carefully. Now start massaging each shoulder separately. Massage with small and big circles concentrating on the shoulder plate. Now spread out your hands on both the side of the spine and slowly start pulling down towards the lower back maintaining gentle pressure. And for the return stroke, go back up kneading the areas you might have missed till armpits. Repeat this a few times covering the whole back and making sure you are not pressurizing on the spine.

Pour some more oil and start from their shoulder and gently stroke till their hand. Gently go on kneading near biceps and above the wrists. You can even knead their palm. Repeat the same to the other hand too. Before you go down to the legs, its important the you have given lot of attention to the lower back area, as this part of the body takes up a lot of weight and pressure, and it needs to be relieved. You can additionally knead their humps and release the muscle knots if there are any. Start with the top of the leg and massage till the knees, knead the fleshy part of the thighs. Go back up and come down a few times repeating the same. From knees you can massage till the feet and knead the fleshy muscles behind the shin. Do not the miss the feet, oil every toe of the feet and finger massage the heel with your thumb.

You can ask your partner to turn over, cover the abdomen part with a towel and start going upwards via knee till thighs applying some more oil and kneading the flesh. Include soft strokes and go higher. Near the end of the thighs, move your hands outward to the hip line. You can just stroke the stomach area, but do not apply pressure. Start from the chest bone and massage until you reach the collar bone and move on sidewards till shoulders and then come back up till the jaw and temples.

Make sure you do this massage very slowly and cover the whole area of the body. If at all your partner fell asleep by the end, thats just another way of saying "thanks".

Massage therapy is good for your health

Massage Therapy and Your Health

by: Candace Parksons

Massage therapy has been around for a long time. Throughout the world people use this type of holistic medicine. Hippocrates detailed how a physician could give a therapeutic massage to help a patient's overall health. Apparently he was correct, because massage therapists are in high demand and there is a great need for this type of therapy.

The benefits of massage therapy are common sense. At any time, have you experienced the pain of a pulled muscle or strained back? Did you rub the sore spot, hoping to get relief from the pain? Your rubbing the muscle could have relaxed it, if it was all knotted up. Massage therapists use this technique to decrease muscle aches, sprains, strains, and injury. They relieve tension in the muscles by applying pressure to them. It decreases the amount of pain and muscle soreness from the injured area.

Massages therapists and masseuses perform very different functions. Aromatherapy essential oils are used in the body lotions during a massage. This creates a calm feeling and makes a person feel refreshed all over their aching, fatigued body. Lavender oil is a widely used essential oil. Lavender produces a calm feeling, which helps relax the person and their muscles as well.

Hospitals, physical therapy offices, spas, and beauty salons all use the services of a massage therapist. Professional athletes seek out their help when they are recovering from an injury or physical strain. Masseuses have been practising their profession for a very long time and are just beginning to be recognized for the vital services they provide by the medical profession.

Whether you are male or female, at some time in your life you will probably need the services of a massage therapy practitioner to help relieve muscular pain. Your muscles might be sore because of stress or injury. Don't hope that someone will just offer you a body massage. You will be doing yourself a big favor by scheduling an appointment with a massage therapist. You will feel brand new, in just a few moments.

Massage Therapy: Head massage for you

Self Head Massage

by: Dorian Bodnariuc

i

Head Massage is an amazing Alternative Medicine tool. It is convenient, it doesn't require a special place, it can be done almost everywhere and the patient can remain fully clothed during the session.

A bit of history. Head Massage appeared in ancient India as part of Ayurveda. Later was brought in Tibet by the Indian Gurus which passed the science to Tibetan Monks.

Champi, (or Champissage as is known in the western world), is a very popular Indian tradition and the knowledge passes from generation to generation.

Benefits of Head Massage. Head Massage is an exceptional treatment for the following conditions:

Insomnia, Stress, Anxiety, Restlessness, Dizziness, Unbalanced Emotions, Depression, Muscle Cramps and Stiffness, Backache and Migraines, fatigue. In combination with the use of massage oils is an very good tool to treat skin and hair problems. It is one of the most effective tools against all disorders caused by the modern life.

Self massage. If you can't benefit from the services of a professional massage therapist you can give yourself a head massage. At your workplace to help you regain concentration, at home after an exhausting day, before an exam to help you manage the stress, etc...

Before you start. Before a self-massage warm up your hands, if needed, wash your hands with warm water and use moisturizing cream or massage oil. Rub your hands together very quickly, this warms them even more. Relax as much as possible focusing on your massage.

Begin with a neck stretching. Place your hands on the place where neck joints with shoulders and start with a side stretching left - and right. The stretching has to be done in a slow motion and the extension should in the limits of comfort. Do this a few times each side. Keeping your hands on the shoulders, continue with stretching forward - backward in the same slow motion. Continue the stretching with alternative rotations; one clockwise the next one counterclockwise this time even slower. Repeat this several times.

Shoulder squeezing. Place your left hand on your right shoulder near your neck and squeeze the muscle between your palm and your fingers. Do this on the whole shoulder up to the neck. Repeat this with your right hand on the left shoulder. Ideally you should do this directly on the skin. Avoid rubbing the skin too much if you are not using oil.

Nerve Strokes. Pass your fingers gently through your hair against the direction of hair growth and go all the way to neck. Do this on the opposite direction starting from the neck to the front of the head. When you reach the top of the head where the hair forms a swirl stop for a second and then proceed further.

Eyebrows friction. Starting from between your eyebrows rub with both of your middle fingers along the eyebrows to the temporal bone. When you reach the temporal bone search for a small cavity and do a small circle fingertip friction. Alternatively this can be done with the thumb. This is an excellent tool against headaches and fatigue.

Ear Massage. Ear massage will help reduce the stress, improve digestion, improve body temperature adjustment. Pull the ear backward with light force. Squeeze the ear between thumb and index applying a light pressure. Pull the earlobe downward with light force and release.

This stimulates all the energetic points on the ear. This is very similar to auriculotherapy.

Earlobe massage will calm the hyperactive kids.

A bit of the spiritual part. Indian head massage is based on the assumption that human body have energetic centers called marma. Marma are sensitive points that are serving as gates between body's physical and energetic levels, (it is something similar to Chinese pressopuncture points). By stimulating these points we can adjust the vital energy.

Baby Shampoo: What you should know

Popular children's bath products contain cancer-causing chemicals, according to research carried out in the United States.

An independent laboratory tested a range of top-selling brands and found many of them contained formaldehyde, which is used to embalm corpses.

Out of the 28 products tested for formaldehyde in the study, 23 contained it. Studies have linked the substance to cancers of the brain, nasal sinuses and possibly leukaemia.
